Villages by the Sea is a series exploring the coastal villages of Britain that have rich cultural histories. Presented by archaeologist Ben Robinson, the show takes us to Walberswick, Robin Hood's Bay, Lindisfarne, Sunderland Point and Clovelly. Today, these fishing villages are calm and quiet, but looking into their past reveals dramatic events, as these places were medieval ports, important trading and religious centers, or Victorian seaside resorts.
