The idea is to persuade at least one of the dragons to sink money into the project, in return for a share of the profits. But each visitor has to be sharp on the details, as the millionaire prospective partners are experienced at separating the valuable from the worthless.

Presented by archaeologist Ben Robinson, the show takes us to Walberswick, Robin Hood's Bay, Lindisfarne, Sunderland Point and Clovelly. Today, these fishing villages are calm and quiet, but looking into their past reveals dramatic events, as these places were medieval ports, important trading and religious centers, or Victorian seaside resorts.

They dive in search of the sunken remains of a medieval village, dragged into the sea by a cyclone; and the team works with scientists on a pioneering experiment to see how these coastal waters could help to predict natural disasters.Finally - they take part in a global experiment to help protect the largest fish in the sea - the whale shark.
